Track Events

Hi,
I'm new to the track scene. Besides Speedventures and SCCA are there any other organizations that put on track and autocross events in SoCal? If there are any links or threads to this kind of question, please point me in that direction. Thank you

Extremespeed is a thing. Pretty cheap too. You get a transponder and an "instructor". I bought a bunch of track days and got a discount that way.

Look at the track calendars and research each HPDE group running in the near future. Email the groups and ask questions, they're usually happy to help. That will be the most comprehensive way to know who's in your area. Also check out the SoCal subforum and 86Cup will likely be a good intro.

I think Hooked On Driving is one of the best first timer groups I've heard of on the West coast so I'll recommend them in lieu of being able to afford to go with them regularly. Checking the calendar can point you go groups you may not expect enjoying like SoCal has an active Audi club, NorCal Lotus club has a great reputation, etc.

I agree, Hooked on Driving is one of the best for 1st timers. It's not just track time but class room high performance driving skills also.

For me it was the coach, awesome gentlemen both times who egged me on to go faster and improve my skills. Every coach with them I've talked to has been great, maybe not the guys who will teach you to set lap records, but they'll teach you to be safe and quick with decent fundamentals provided you can take the advice.
