What products to use on the inside?
 

I'm a pretty young owner of the FRS and being only 17 this is actually my first car, so my knowledge on keeping up with the car's needs are a bit low so hold in there :lol:

I picked up my FRS a few weeks ago from the dealer and of course the first thing you notice about these vehicles is that everything on the inside is black. Honestly pulling my car off the lot they didn't do much of any detailing, there are some spots and such on the inside, almost like coffee stains but i know it's not coffee, just where it looks like some liquids had dried that I'm about to go hit now.

To get to the point, I wanted to ask from you guys what products you'd recommend for the interior to clean and protect my dash. Luckily where I live i can pull into my driveway which extends past the side of the house and park the car in the shade so that's one less thing I'm worried about, I was going to pick up some Armor All today but I figured i'd ask and see what you guys use

I would try water first. Everything I have encountered so far on my dash has been able to be cleaned with water and some gentle elbow grease. I would try adding a tiny big of regular soap if plain water didn't get the job done.

If it is worse than what water will take care of, it may be worth making the dealer ship do a full detail since they didn't when they should have.

Also paper towls etc don't work that great on the top rubber. What I actually use is my shammy after drying off the car from a wash. That damp leather shammy seems to clean stuff super well on the top of the dash, I don't know if it's the leather but it works wonders for me.

thank you guys :) I'm going to go pick up some microfiber clothes and damp them and rub the inside down, maybe dust it with a swiffer too

Buy good quality microfiber towels. Don't buy the one's from Costco. IMHO don't have the dealership detail your new car cuz they may make it worse. Just my 2 cents ;)

For sure, I think my old man was going to give me some from costco :eyebulge: that being said maybe I'll head over to autozone and pick something out

A good microfiber towel and warm water.

If a stain won't come off, add a bit of mild soap.

Back in the day, mothers spit and a hankie would take off anything ..... :D

Also Chemical Guys got a lot of great products for interior and exterior, and ofc quality microfiber! :D

And after you lucky duck live in the US, you can order directly from em with cheap postage..

Can't beat Lexol for interiors. Good for everything and not too shiny. As for cleaning a damp microfiber should handle most stuff.

I also use a damp(water) microfiber cloth for most interior pieces.


I'm never satisfied with the chemical stuff. Over time, you start to notice the residue.

A nice product to wipe down the interior plastic's and dash, gauge's etc is Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer. You can buy it at Auto Zone locally, or amazon, auto geek etc. It smells pleasant offers a nice clean surface and adds UV protection. You can use it on any surface in your interior as well. Its not a heavy protection product but its great for maintenance.

Griots Garage interior cleaner, use it on all my clients cars and my own. Trust me, it is great stuff
