GT86 is the new star-on-track car for Top Gear

Top Gear has dumped the rallycross format for their "star in a reasonably-priced car" segment this season and is going with a GT86 for its guests to drive - great publicity given the show's huge viewership. Perhaps it's a bit of a back-handed compliment though, considering the assorted turds they have pressed into service for this segment in the past....

Crap. Now when people post times similar to a C'd everyone will know this car is slow.

Don't worry. Nobody is going to see it anyway because that would require that people actually still watch Top Gear post Clarkson/Hammond/May.

I'm guilty, I'm afraid. I'm surprised though cause all of their cars so far have been FWD.

First RWD car that many of these people will experience. THAT could be fun! They driving with the nannies on or off?

Top Gear is back? LOL, I didn't even know, I've been too busy watching the Grand Tour

This is the first thing that makes me slightly interested in watching "New Top Gear."

It's about time...I've thought this car would be perfect for SIARPC since its introduction.

Should be decent if they promote Harris and Reid up to the main stage.

Everyone with a hard on for Top Gear forgets how nearly unwatchable the first handful of series were.

86 will show which stars are really into it and which are just too brave for their own good, FWD kinda masked that.

They should have made Harris and Reid the hosts from the start and if they needed an American to appeal to the US audience then they should have hired someone like Matt Farah or another decent youtube car guy. Joey just feel out of place.
