Do I need a tune?
I have a '13 scion with Injen intake, Greddy catback exhaust, motive front pipe. With all that do I need a tune? I love the way the car felt and sounded after start up but once the maf kicked in after a day or two it went back to somewhat normal. Any advice?

You'll gain more power from a tune than you have from having all those parts without a tune. |
Ok but all I've seen out there are stage 1. Once it gets into stage 2, 3, and up its only if you have headers, turbo, E85 etc. indontnhave any of those

Stage 1: stock header
Stage 2: aftermarket header For your set up, you would want stage 1. |
Even though I don't have aftermarket headers?

Ok so..... Which tune to go with? Ecu tek? Open flash?

the biggie is the intake and the possibility you need MAF scaling (no idea what your intake looks like).

Intakes can alter the fueling and afr on your car as the MAF sits in the intake it samples basicly the velocity of the air passig it to determine air flow, if the intake changes the velocity of the air past maf then it can throw fueling off, this is eespecially true if the intake alters the positioning of maf in air flow or the diameter of tube the maf sits in. The ecu will attempt to compensate but doesnt always get it correct. intakes on the whole produce little power gain. if ir was me i would sell the injen intake put money towards a set of catless headers and a tune. have a read of the basic bolt on mods guide below link in blue |
You will gain a little drivability with a tune. A bit of power through the rev band. The mods you already have will make little or no difference. They are essentially cosmetic. In other words, if you went back to stock an then ran a tune, you'd get the same HP. If you replace the header, you can get a noticeable boost in HP. A header might, just might, work with those other mods to add some insignificant amount of power.

if you think about save money . the car can holds any change on air or fuel . that called LTFT AND STFT . the ecu take time to learn whats new and what's different . there are limit for that limit . upto 10% of change from stock . above of that will coz lag / delay / failsafe mode
looking for power . tune best option |
