AT trans throwing codes (P0700, P2757, C1294)
Hey whats up guys, so ive been getting really lucky lately, my car was in the residential going about 15mph and all of sudden my check engine light and traction control and my ABS light went off, i pulled over turned the car off and just the check engine light came on, now be in mind that i have gone to my dealer 4 times prior to this happening about odd shifting in manuel and driving mode in my car but they kept telling me it was normal blah blah blah, fast forward to me bringing it in for the CEL to them telling me that i had burnt tranny fluid and metal shaving inside the pan, but they arnt going to do anything about it because of a accident i had 2 and a half years ago that damaged the passenger front side of the car, now i know im not the smartest but you have to have proof that the accident caused my tranny to fail but all they wrote on service paper was "found metal shavings in trans pan, found cross member replaced, cooling fan not secure, radiator and condensor replaced, at this time no warranty will be givin." And my car only has 24,000 miles on the clock i bought it brand new.
As a person who really loves and enjoys his twin this is really depressing, my question to you guys if any of you experienced anything like this and if you did what action did you take, and should i go back to the body shop and let them know my car is messed up because of them ? (Which i dont think it was them because them are a high quality body shop here in long beach CA Please guys any help will be appreciated. Thank you !!! |
My automatic is turboed and it never had the issue of the P2757 until recently. Was able to figure out that it will always throw the code shifting to and from 4th gear during some sort of high throttle.
Thought it was the torque converter that needed to be upgraded to fix the issue, but it wasn't. lol. still have the code thrown. |
So what do you do, do you just clear the codes because the way the tech were telling me at the dealer was i needed a while new tranny and i dont want to spend that money on something i know i can fix with a tune probably :(

I'm hoping someone will eventually come with a 100% fix for this issue. |

Anybody know if this got ‘solved’. Just threw the same thing this morning going into 4th at high revs. AT was serviced and fine less than 10k ago. Really don’t want to replace the trans just to have the same issue. |
Mine is throwing these now too.
Anyone have any updates? |

P0700 is a general transmission fault error. P2757 is a specific code for the torque converter lock-up either not working, or there is a slip in the lock-up clutch even if it was working. So older aged AT transmission might exhibit either one of the issues and the first step was to change out the faulty indicated actuator solenoid and make sure it is working properly. I did that. Soon after, P2757 appeared again, meaning that the lock-up converter is worn and may (or will definitely) need a rebuild. My transmission has over 80,000 miles at this point, more than 50 track events, dozens of drift events, etc, so wear was to be expected. I could say the same for accelerated wear if the car was thrashed with boost too. Still, I've never had a car that took so much abuse for so long and had not had a transmission issue, so this is a very good transmission, I'd say. And I have owned 41 cars in my life, half of them abused in motorsports. It is saying something! Just wrote that in for anyone experiencing this. :happyanim: |
I've been on AT #3 for a while after AT #2 started throwing codes as well. LOTS of hard driving on AT #1, #2.
LKQ has had low mileage replacement ATs for less than $700 with the torque converter in the past when I got AT #2, #3 FYI. |

Yes, but only after AT#3. AT #1/2 did not have a non-oem cooler.

Friend of mine has been boosted awhile and tracks his AT, also with just a transmission cooler and no issues either |
