2017 NASA tire contingencies

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to order a set of track tires for this season. I may or may not end up in TT this year or next, and am curious to know if Maxxis plans on continuing their contingency program from last year. I've already reached out to them directly, but haven't been able to talk with anyone. Does anyone here know what Maxxis plans to do in 2017 or beyond? The NASA site just says information is "coming soon".
I'm leaning towards a set of 225-45/17 RC-1s, and knowing they will continue the contingency program will seal the deal for me.
Thanks!

Maxxis has had a NASA contingency since I can remember. I started tracking in 2012. More than likely you will go through them by the end of the year. So even if they ditch the contingency in 2018 you are definitely good for this year.

I am running TT4 this year to prep for the swap to TT5 in 2018 with 255/40/17 RC1s. Can't wait.

I'm not sure I understand. What do you mean, "...you will go through them by the end of the year"?
How do you know I am, "...definitely good for this year"? Did you see something saying they are continuing the program in 2017?
