Dyno Database
I'm trying to gauge interest in setting up a dyno database. I did this for BMW M3's and currently have over 500 dyno entries in the database.
The database keeps track of all of your mods, dyno results, dyno correction factors, etc., and will allow you to upload your dyno files so others can download and compare. Here's what I did for BMW's: www.bmwdynodatabase.com I could do the same thing for FRS/BRZ/86. In fact, I wouldn't even need to change much (if any) programming. I would also be looking for one person to help me administer it. Most people don't input their own dyno entries, so it's really a labor of love searching the web for dyno results, nagging the owner to answer questions, and inputting into the database. The actual input takes no more than 5 minutes of your time. Unlike the database listed above which is tied into a car forum, I would make this one completely stand-alone and unaffiliated. I would probably use an interface like I did here for the Performance Database: http://www.perfdb.com/PerfDB.php Give me some feedback, and if there's some interest (and if I can get somebody willing to help), then I'll set it all up. |
I like this idea.

I too have been thinking we should set something like this up.
|
Definitely interested. This would be very helpful to the community
|
Here's some of the features that I should also point out. These features are already in the BMW dyno database.
|
I'm always interested in things like this!
|
I can volunteer to help get this set up.
|
I'm almost done setting this up. I had to completely rewrite the Dyno Database software to take it away from the other car forum and make it stand-alone.
Here's a sneek peak of what it looks like for BMW's. Fancy things like logo graphics will come later. http://www.bmwdynodatabase.com |
wow! great idea! good job....
|
On NASIOC there is a loosely followed format in the Proven Power section of basic mods and conditions to be posted with dyno or drag strip posts.

But if I ever do put in this feature, I would also add a feature to covert all of the correction factors. |
OK, I turned on the BRZ/FRS Dyno Database on an experimental basis. Since this is a total software redesign from my BMW dyno database, there's bound to be some bugs. Send me a PM if you find any bugs or can think of new features.
In the coming days/weeks, I'll be going through all of the threads and seeing how many dyno charts I can find and post. URL: www.ft86dynos.com |
Great initiative! Go for it!

This will be a great resource...thanks!

So, a big thank you for your hard work and efforts. It really is appreciated! :thanks: |
Any way of adding a Superflow tab? I know myself and at least two other people who were dyno'd on one.
|
|
I believe at least one of the VividRacing Dynos add their pulley to the configuration, which is not listed.
|
so ive got a stock and stock with CEL/SL dyno performed but what other info do i need to provide to put this into the database? http://www.ft86club.com/forums/dto_g...ehicle_id=1267

Here's a plot to add to your db: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=565
93 octane, 6MT (5th gear pull), stock save for the axleback. |
You've got our dyno number wrong
This is our current highest stock pulls - 178: http://www.ddperformanceresearch.com...PR%20FR-S2.jpg |

completely stock, 93 octane, 6MT and perhaps the dyno database should be stickied? or atleast a thread where people can post their numbers, so that it'll go into the database more easily? |
Two things. Sticky it so it doest get buried, and what do you think about adding a virtual dyno tab?
|
How do you add dynos? I'd like to add mine as I have a lot of different ones.

if you have a photobucket account, you can add it as one of your contacts in your phone, then when you take a pic with said phone, can upload instantly. that's how i do it |
Are all these graphs of wheel hp/tq or flywheel? I've got a graph for each one from my last trip to the shop, but I just figured I'd ask before posting either one.
|
i believe most people are going to be showing from the wheels, since it's easier to get, and i can't think of any shops that have dynos that'll read from the flywheel
