Anyone able to help a newb out with some installs?

I'm basically learning as I go and feel I'd be better suited following directions etc and learning as I go than just taking my car to a shop.

I need to get my coilovers and turbo installed, so if anyone with experience wants to help out, I'd really appreciate it :D

I'm in Bonney Lake, Washington, but I assume I could travel somewhere to do things also.

I say just find a buddy with a bit of mechanical aptitude to bounce ideas off of and give you a reality check before you do something stupid :) There's lots to be learned on your own.

A turbo kit install would deff no be something I would want to learn as you go on even if you had someone who was fairly knowledgeable to help you out.

have someone install the turbo...not smart to install that yourself, most good kits will not be a perfect fit

Which turbo kit is it? With proper research, I don't see any issue trying to tackle it...so long as the typical steps don't get you too far out of your comfort zone.

MAP kit with a GTX 3076r.

I'm a relatively intelligent person I feel, and there's a wealth of knowledge online, so I'm not terribly worried about installing it step by step from directions.

As a newb, I think you should leave $2000+ mods up to pros. Brake lines, brake rotors, coils, springs, intake, etc. are all fine and all but when you have a huge risk of a turbo....I'd leave it up to the pros. If you're still set on doing the job yourself, maybe ask MAP performance for a step-by-step installation manual?

Some shops out there will be very cautious in taking your car in when it comes to tuning as they do not know the quality of the install.

Are you planning to tune it yourself or bring it to a shop?
If you are having a shop tune it, ask them first about their views on who should do the install.

I see that you're in Washington, so try to hit up @Drift-Office. They've done hundreds of our cars already, even us from Canada go down (8 hour round trip) to that shop to have work done.

Shops get paid to do installs right? I feel like that's like going to a restaurant and asking them if you should try to make yourself dinner.

I have all the instructions and like I said a wealth of internet knowledge that I can pull from.

I'm pretty set on doing it myself because I want to learn about it and not be forever at the mercy of someone else.

That's quite true that they want to do the service for you too. But if you have instructions, then it should be okay I guess.

Good luck! You'll love boost :)

i have experience installing coilovers, but i'd recommend you take the turbo to a shop to have it installed. i recommend Bob from drift office.

If you're planning on being down south any time soon hit me up :D

If you wanted to make a trek I bet you could get @DarrenDriven to do the coils but I agree with @slyphen and recommend DriftOffice on the turbo.

I would to come by and watch the process for the installation for coilovre as I'm looking for ones to get if you don't mind.

I'm down. An extra set of eyes/hands wouldn't hurt.

I'm usually off Weds/Fridays
