is the FR-S worth purchasing?

since scion is no longer a company is it a smart idea to buy a FR-S over a BRZ?

Depends what you're doing with the car. The BRZ is basically the more upscale version of the FRS.

If it's going to be a daily car, I'd get the BRZ. Heated seats, better interior, better headlights, etc.

If it's strictly a track car, the FRS is probably better.

Pick a brand, pick the features you want and go from there.

I got a base frs because I didn't care for heated seats or dual zone climate controls. It also didn't hurt that I got around 2500 off the purchase price.

But yeah, the firs is an awful DD. dunno how people live without heated seats when it's 30*C outside.

Yep, you can always rebadge it to Toyota get JDM GT86 style headlights with HID Kit, clear corners, TRD Spoiler and boom you got a car just as good looking as the BRZ :)

Same as above, just figure out the style you prefer and price point you're comfortable with. Then compare what features/quality of life upgrades you want. Personally I find the seats super comfy so dailying isn't an issue for me. I bought the base FRS because I wanted to race it at the track and autocross, so no need for the luxury upgrades. YMMV

EDIT: Just for clarification (and to answer your question), Toyota shutdown Scion, but that doesn't mean the FRS disappeared. It's now a Toyota FRS. So the choice between FRS versus BRZ comes down to what creature comforts/style you want.

Ok grammar nazi.

Here's the correction.

Pick and choose, with the FRS you can rebadge it, change headlights, side corners.

It wasn't your grammar, it was because you were on my lawn.

FR-Sky 02-01-2017 04:05 AM

They both are the same car...just different badge and interior features.
Get as cheap as you can,,and as low mileage as you can.
