Wide Seats

Anyone have experience with Wide Seats?

I'm a pretty big guy at 6'1 230lbs, 38-40" waist depending on the day. I sat in the EVO II US Seat and while I fit, the shoulders were a bit to narrow for me. In general I have fairly broad shoulders.

I was looking at something like the EVO III which seems more big guy friendly, but im unsure of if its going to fit in the FR-S. I can't seem to find any info about someone running a wider seat like that

Any info would be appreciate.

Well, I ordered the Sparco EVO III and I'll have to make sure I post my findings because it seems there are very few of us bigger guys trying to put fixed back seats in our cars.

I did some measuring, and I'm a bit hazy on it already but I believe it was 23.5 inches or so from the console to the inside door sill inside of the car. The seat is 22" wide, so its going to be a tight fit but it SHOULD work.

My only concern is if there will still be enough room for the stock belts, however I think if worse comes to worse itll require cutting a relief from the center console.

I just put an Evo II in (which is only a medium sized seat) and I used a PCI adjustable seat mount. The seat is a tiny bit off-center (which I will remedy by using a BFH on the trans tunnel) but I suspect you will run into a similar problem with the III.

The PCI seat mount *might* have enough adjustability to be used with the III, though it might not go wide enough. It works with seats up to 19.5" wide (according to their site), but you may end up having to go completely custom on your bracket.

Update:

Sparco EVO III's do fit, just barely but they do fit. I used the Sparco Seat bracket and Side rails, no sliders.

However it looks like I will need to give the Buddy Club low rails and try and see if they work. At the lowest setting I can get it the seat is still going to be a little to high to fit with a helmet, and its just slightly to close to the steering wheel for me. It wouldn't be so bad if I only got in and out of the car once in awhile, but i drive it to much to deal with that aggravation every time I get in and out of the car.

Is there a bride seat rail wide enough? The buddy clubs don't go that low and are of mediocre quality.

So I've learned. I bought them. They are junk.

Not sure about the bride rails

I just ordered a bride rail. Reviews seem to be good and the apparently go low. We will see.

Also curious if these go lower than the stock seats, I don't mind the slightly small seat but the height is too high even on the lowest setting, my left leg presses against the steering wheel

While I can change my driving style for street driving, I doubt i could track day with me not being able to steer freely
