Performance package first drive review

Hey all, just saw this pop up! Lots and lots of photos, many of the Series Yellow. A fairly short review overall, but again the photos are definitely worth checking out.

Subaru hinted something special is coming for 2018...

Thanks for the link. I found it interesting the pedal was mushy, I would have felt it would not be with the BBK. Can anyone with a PP confirm or deny that? Interesting about the special something for 2018..considering I just read an article claiming no STi for this generation and no turbo either. Perhaps a tS although the PP sort of fills that niche a bit.

They are still just a low level auto site no matter how much people like the review. Subaru is not throwing out hints for 2018.

I'm holding out for a turbo!

Thanks for posting the review.

Yeah I tend to agree. Well unless they mean the mandatory yearly special edition color variant.

I saw two codes for ordering for 2018 when I went to my dealer Monday. There is a turbo charged version that is orderable in August 2018. I guess it available in limited or premium. Also new color codes, two of them.

But it isnt .au so it has to be reliable

Another reviewer who went on the same journo junket has also alluded to something special coming in MY 2018 (see the Jalopnik review). I suspect some perhaps off-the-record indications have been given about a forthcoming offering.

Makes sense that Subaru would do this in the last few years of the car's lifespan in its current form - it's a pattern followed by many others from Porsche (GTS models) to Ford (Focus RS) to keep sales and profits up prior to the emergence of the new generation.
