Replacement Battery

So long story short, I borrowed my renter my battery since the one in her car was shit. She is selling the car and I'm considering just giving her a deal on my 4 year old stock battery so she does not have to mess around with taking it back out and what not. That said car is driven 6-8mo a year spring/summer/early fall. Is it worth just getting a lighter battery and calling it a day since I don't need a massive battery for the cold cranking amps of winter? Only other "performance" batteries I've every looked at are optima batteries. So looking for some suggestions.

Diehard gold and a battery warmer

A four year old stock battery is worth it's core deposit of $5, nothing more. Do her a favor and just let her keep it. I just replaced mine with an Optima yellow top and am very happy with it. It was under $200 and I've only heard good things about them.

Car is only driven in the summer months so no need for a battery warmer.

Losing weoght is never a bad thing. Just keep it charged properly and it should be fine I think. Granted I dont have experiance with light weight batteries atm. Maybe one the current one dies and i can do more research on daily driving with one

That was my thought of well I don't really even daily it even during the summer months plus if I don't need cold cranking amps and a large capacity why not get something lighter. But if there are pitfalls I'm not aware of I figured there would be someone on here that would be able to enlighten me.

Serious question, why do people in here still buy from ft86speedfactory.com when their prices are almost double of what you can get something elsewhere?

I've never bought anything from them but when I have looked also they have always been close in price though. Have some examples in mind where they have been really out of line?

I have a PC925 on my Forester XT, and my friend has one on his BRZ. Awesome batteries, way more CCA than stock, better warranty, smaller, lighter.

I'm tempted to try a PC680 in my BRZ when the battery dies.

good to know. Other people that I had talked to had said they were overated and over priced. Don't know if that was just their opinions or if they had practical experience with them.
