TRD wing

Are all TRD and replica TRD wings held by double sided tape?? I thought where held in by screws. I am worried if will fall off of if ever driving in high speeds that it will blow right off.

Real TRD spoiler is held on by screws and double sided tape. Replica is only double sided tape

My replica came with nuts embedded in the plastic. They lined up with OEM holes too, so mine is held on by both.

Real one also has the weather stripping to prevent moisture getting underneath.

The previous posters are correct, though my real TRD wing is held by urethane paste along with the double sided tape - hasn't fallen off in 3 years, so you don't need to drill it, just make sure its held down with more than just the 3M tape :)

Mine has the holes to drill into the trunk but I didn't want to.

It's held on with JUST 3m tape and hasn't come off and is perfectly in place without any movement or issues of it coming loose.

I did have this issue when I didn't use real 3M tape and some knock off brand. That one kept coming off. But if you get the real stuff you can have the wing on without bolts or any issues.

I was at dealer and asked about spoiler and tech guy said it is held by 3m tape as well.

I am just scared of tape on a wing. Rakshaa what kind of urethane paste did you use?

I'm trying to remember, but it was something along the lines of this:

http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/1...hane-08609.pdf

It is used in conjunction with 3M double sided tape for a lasting seal. Get a professional to install it for you like this :)

As for asking the dealer, they won't know anything about the TRD spoiler as it is not available in NA. The only spoiler they would have is the OEM Scion one at Toyota or OEM Subaru/86 one at Subaru dealers.

i also used 3M tape/Paste on mine. Has held just fine.

Anyone happen to have made or found an OEM gasket/skirt for the TRD wing? I need another one and haven't had luck on Toyo DIY/basic searches.
