Electronic rust module

Does anyone have them installed? Where is the module located?
Reason for asking is because I've found a brochure in the papers of the car when I bought it

Will be a little box on the firewall someplace. If you paid extra for it you may as well have taken the cash and ripped it up and thrown it away.
They are a great addition to large ships that can generate enough power to work properly but a total waste of money on a car where they don't do a thing.

Never knew such a thing existed for cars. Here is a little info about how they are probably snake oil: http://www.autotrainingcentre.com/bl...st-protection/

My son in law had them on two cars. Both rotted to the door handles in 5 years. One so bad that the shock tower let go about 5 inches away from the module. Of course they were both Mazdas but still....

What if the polarity was incorrectly calibrated? Set to self destruct in 5years instead of 10years.

you might as well go ahead and buy an "earth harness system"

Electronic rust proof

OK guys...bring it on :sigh:...Cathodic protection is real...in any metals that contain iron...it just wants to go back home.

Ft86club forums... where talking about electronic rust modules turns into buying earth harness system and snake oil lol!

I just wanted to know where it's located so I can find out if my car came with one considering the fact that I bought it used and it had random things like the bongovi acoustics or whatever and lo jack (which I'm really happy about)

Well, allowe, if your car has one, as @Tcoat speculated, it most likely is attached to the firewall or at least somewhere under the hood. Since it has to be plugged in, you might look for a wire running off the positive post of the battery or a "always hot" lead out of the fuse box.

There is no standard place to find it as they are not a standard item and get slapped on wherever the installer wanted. They are usually on the firewall near the battery.

Yes it is real and works very well in many many applications. Car modules is not one of them.
