Rear spoiler Question

I'm new here and recently picked up a 10 series. Looking to add a spoiler and have seen alot that use double stick tape instead of bolt on. Anyone have a spoiler attached with Tape?
Does it hold up through the seasons and car washes?
Thanks in advance

I have a 5axis spoiler and is attached with only double sided tape for 2 years now, no issues so far...

Yes and so far so good. I think the trick is very clean surfaces, don't apply when it's cold then leave overnight.

+1 This is gospel for all adhesives.

Strip any and all wax or sealant in the area. Lightly mark out the where the tape will go with a dry erase marker. Lightly sand the gloss off the finish inside the marked area. Don't get carried away you just want to scuff the gloss to give the tape something to hold onto. Stick on and leave it as said.

Drive out to California and swap trunks with me. I have a 10 series with a stock spoiler. I actually like how the car looks without one.

And always apply 3M Adhesive Promoter to the area where the tape will go. All new Five:AD (5 Axis) spoilers come with the 3M Adhesive Promoter.

+1 . That adhesion promoter is amazing. But beware, you have to get it right the first time. Like said above you need to get all the wax, grease and dirt off. The local parts store has 3m or similar Wax and Grease remover. Quite inexpensive.

If I wasnt in NY i might have taken you up on that but i really like the duck bill style. More low profile than the stock spoiler.
