hey lemme know what ya think about this engine modification.

Even if it did work- and no hydrogen system like this has ever been proven to- to pay for itself it'd have to save about 151 gallons (at a fuel price of 2.50/gal). Say this thing gave you a 10% increase in MPG. You have to drive a long way to make up that cost. How does this thing adjust your AFR so your engine doesn't lean out or run rich? There's no tune to go with it.

Just hook a kazoo to your intake and call it a day.

Oh, video in best lines of those coming to houses and selling at premium household appliances.
IIRC normal electric generators/engines have very high useful activity coefficient, +they can regen energy also from braking, not just engine. Hence why manufacturers use that in hybrid cars even despite battery weight penalty. I doubt electrolyze process used to produce oxygen & hydrogen is uber efficient, most probably far off efficiency of specialized hydrogen plants. And certainly burning them together back in ICE is less efficient then electric engine. And amount car generator can produce of hydrogen & oxigen is small. Otherwise more powerful then stock generator will be lugging engine by a lot. About the only thing they may have some improvement with, if hydrogen & oxigen injections even in very very small amounts (few small bubbles / no big stream like from high-pressure NOS tank) have capability to act as some miraculous catalyst improving by MUCH efficiency of burning normal fuel that still will serve as main source of energy. And i doubt that a bit, as otherwise vendors would be already adding to cars better/safer implemented small replaceable tanks for H2 & O2 injection, in fashion similar to ad-blue for diesels. Then there comes crash safety bit. You do know, that what can blow is petrol fumes, not petrol itself? You have trust in lines for hydrogen & oxigen for puncture safety in crash in some sched made ebay contraption? :) Yes, it's no high pressure gas tank leak danger, but also i wouldn't claim that it won't be adding potential extra fire hazzards. I know of fires happening in old submarines due hydrogen accumulation in battery chambers. It's probably 100% safe in some sched-made crap? :) Environment safety? That gunk in video probably are remains of metallic electrodes that eroded in alkaline electrolyte of water & soda. I'm not that sure that it together with that electrolyte is THAT safe to dump anywhere. I'm no chemist, but why there are those services of collecting & recycling used batteries. Probably because it's NOT as safe to simply throw them out? And then there comes shadyness of piggyback chip. Our engines are rather high power output per displacement. There is fine balance managed by rather complicated ECU tune. I wouldn't want throw off it's logic or working of MAF sensor in bin by freely injecting some crap from that contraption managed by unknown logic in one controller made for any cars from different count cylinders and both petrol & diesel. Or you'll get free dyno tune for those $350? :) |

I'm rather betting that opened bottle of coke will show way more bubbles of CO2 then electrolyze separated H2/O2 from distilled water by using stock generator power. Far from "pouring". So no much harm, but also no gains except if like from any other placebo product. Aligning fuel molecules with magnets on fuel lines anyone? :D
