Hi ppl,

I picked up my White Toyota 86 GTS just over 2 weeks ago and I'm in Love. The car is comfortable, is quicker than expected, handles like a dream, well thought out (for the most part), and is quite pleasing to the eye ;)

I'm currently @ ~900km so only 700km more till break-in is OVER! :happyanim:

All I can say is that everything I've read about this car is true. It truely is a fun car to drive! I can't help but smile everytime I take her out for a spin, I feel like a kid in a candy store. It must be Love!

Now i'm not going to rant and rave anymore because I'm sure you've heard it all before ;)
What I am going to do is put up some pics, which I know you've all seen before but hey... they weren't my car! ;P

Just to mention a few things that have already been done to the car...
  • "Toyota" badge has been removed,
  • LED number plate lights,
  • Exterior has been Opti-coated,
  • Interior has been nano sealed,
  • RS*R Sports-i suspension has now been installed (30mm drop all around according to the techs)
  • Perrin light weight pulley is sitting on my bench waiting for after break-in period;
  • And wheels are being drooled over until I can find the right set.
OK so now it's picture time!

Looking good man! Coilovers are a must have on this car. How do you like the RS*R's?

MarkMash 07-12-2012 01:53 PM

thanks for posting!!

I've got to ask, loooking at the same suspension - how do you rate the ride comfort?? I'm also wanting to drop it about the same amount but am worried that I'll experience too much harshness during the daily communte to work (lots of crappy roads around Brisbane)

be interesting to know

Sick ride man! I think this is the first 86 GT-S i've seen on here, mind giving some interior shots because I'm bored at work? lol

To be honest, when I drove the car home I was thinking to myself "Damn this is a hard ride!" I was literally bouncing in my seat over every bump!
Then last night when I got home from work I adjusted the dampening to the softest setting (It was set to the hardest!) and went for a spin. The difference was amazing! The car felt like it was almost back at stock feel but handling was sharper.
I have since adjusted it up +10 clicks from the softest setting for now but I'll play around with it when I have some more time :)

So all in all I'm extremely happy with the RS*R coilovers! It puts a bigger smile on my face when I drive now

The only thing you may have to check is height adjustment... I want to possibly go lower in the front but I only have about 3-4 threads left to lower. The techs said it was dropped around 30mm but I see Moto's is at -35mm at the front(?). I'll have to contact him and see how much travel he has left on his.

Also my heights were set to "Moto spec" when they were sent from Japan, which I think is extremely nice of them!

Lovin' it! :happyanim:

Thanks, will look mean when she gets a new pair of shoes ;)

The fronts have about 3-4 threads till they reach the bottom. The rears though still have plenty of travel left in them.

spiller 07-13-2012 01:18 AM

thanks mate. 3-4 threads is pretty close to bottomed out then and it doesnt look "that" low in the pics. You'd probably want it a bit lower if you are going to fit aftermarket wheels with more agrresive offset.
