Sure it's not condensation from your exhaust system

Is the fuel pump recently installed? If so, then it makes sense its leaking when you fill it up because it is not sealed correctly.

Wouldn't you likely smell it inside the car then

my point is if I understand the situation correctly and the car is leaking that much gas the owner shouldn't be driving it until it was fixed.

That's how your car looks when the sheriff rescues it from the speed shop.

I had a leak last year when I had a new fuel pump put in just before storage. When the tank was full fuel would leak from the top of the tank where the canister is screwed in until the pressure in the tank leveled out. Dumped about 1/4 tank of gas all over my dad's garage floor (he was not happy).

Needed to buy a new top for the canister as it had been installed and removed to many times (few pump issues) and would not seal. This screwed up my fuel sending unit but eventually all was fixed.

man.. getting like single responses to zero responses from csg and they installed my fuel pump, said they'll let me know when part comes in but it's been 2.5 weeks. This shit is really starting to piss me off.
