Double U T F...is this for real?

Hi all, first time here, long time stalker. I fell in love with this car the moment I saw the first drawings and everything. I was a bit put off by the long wait of the price but ...well I am here now.
I like the car, and I really want to buy it. I live in Brisbane and just got off the phone with Toyota and got quoted $42100 for GTS manual in black. Oh and 6 to 12 months wait. A big WTF? I booked a test drive for this weekend and discuss details. Reading here people paid from 38.600 up to 39.776...but I have to pay extra 2.5k for what?

Is this correct? I am 35 with very good driving history and all that...or maybe they just put their price up so they can negotiate it down?

Brisbane dealers seem to be putting markups on the dealer delivery charge.

it's not easy to get much discount but a few of us managed to get the dealer to match the driveaway price on the TMCA website.

mikesilvia (a member here) seems to work at Southside Toyota at the Gabba and you may want to talk to him. I can give you more detail of where i got mine from if you pm me.

good luck.

Cheers mate, much appreciated. PM sent.
I was thinking if it's worht getting the car from a different state. I know that there will be some extracharges (transport, etc) but I am just wondering at this stage.

I paid around $38.5k for my GTS manual in Tornado Grey, but I'm in Sydney if that makes a difference. I've read some shady dealers marking up for xyz reasons. Ask around and find a reputable dealer in Brissy!

I paid the exact website price, went through Southside Gabba (via Justin, same place that Mikesilvia works), and I didnt need to question the online price or anything, they just honoured it, no fuss..

Would definitely recommend them.

I believe my brisbane driveaway price was $39550 or so.

did you bring your private plate with you or swapped afterwards?

that's a saving of $2x if you don't need the standard plate.

If it was Auto, then yeah, it would be that much. But manual should be cheaper.

On the website it says $39,591.13 while this guy is asking 42,108. Just over 2.5k in what? Does the guy give me a Full LCD 200HZ Sony tv with the car or something?
Man, the nerve...

Are you getting any personalised plates or aftermarket (tinting, paint protection)?
Personalised Plates could run you up to $2,395 hmmn.

I have asked the guy there and he told me that is that much without asking any further questions. A bit disapointing really! and he was the manager or something!
