Expereince with Innovated Dynamics Sub Enclosures?
Does anyone have any experience with Innovated Dynamics sub enclosures? I've only been able to find this one thread, which is essentially one guy plugging them and a lot of other skeptical people. I also see that the prices there are significantly different than on their website.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59291 Naturally I'm still considering other options (Integrity Concepts, JL Audio stealthbox, etc), but I definitely like the way the Innovated Dynamics one sits in the trunk. |
Not sure about the specs. But a ported enclosure for that small space, I'm calling some kind bs. Unless it's tuned for only one kind of sub. For the price I'll pass.
Then again I'm super happy with a generic 10" sub box I got online for $30, .75 cubic feet makes any sub sound good. 3 seconds to remove if need be. It's your call. If you want a custom one look at the top brands JL or Kicker and something else might have some for around the same price. |
If you're not going to go with a complete solution like OEM Audio+, then go with a company that knows their way around speakers, like JL or Integrity Concepts. Internal volume is incredibly important, and it isn't "one size fits all." It needs to work with the particular model of speaker being used. Properly ported boxes are a fair amount bigger than sealed boxes. They need more volume to work right, and the port dimensions and length play a huge part in the tuning frequency of the box. Some speakers work better in ported enclosures than sealed, and vice versa. You can't just take a sealed enclosure and sub, cut a hole in it, and call it ported. All that does is ruin your sealed enclosure.
The chief selling point of that is that it looks nice. Woo. |
