Never ending details
I bought the ned forest Oeming oil cooler in sept. Took out my payment instantly. Didn't receive a tracking number after a month. I emailed weekly and called weekly. Still no response. Disputed with my bank. Now dec they send me a tracking number but I just want my money back by this point. I tell them I disputed. They ask for an email forward, but I give them a dispute number. Now I get no response again. Worst customer service ever.

I ordered from them too back in October. Didn't hear anything for a couple weeks so I emailed them. Didn't hear anything for another week so I asked for a refund. Didn't hear anything for several days, so I disputed the purchase on my card and my bank issued a refund. A few days later someone finally emails me the day before Thanksgiving! I told them the situation and never heard back. A few days later I get a package in the mail. It was the oil cooler!! Given the circumstances I think I may just keep it due to their incompetent ability to check emails and properly respond.

Just ordered from them and luckily theyve been promply responding to my messages. Weird it takes so long for it to get shipped out. But $230 for an oil cooler is a god damn steal.

15 days since my order...and they still haven't shipped. NED y u do this?????

Because people on this forum complain for no reason! Either way I'm not tripping too bad over it, my car has been in the body shop for 11 days now so not much I could do even if it showed up today.

Either way hope you get everything squared away soon |
I got my oil cooler today! 26 days from order to delivery...but I've waited longer for parts from Japan so it's not a big deal.
It can be a PITA to organize all the parts from the OEM oil cooler thread and I'm glad there's at least someone out there who can do it for us, and make it just as easy as ordering an external oil cooler. Just wish they kept this in stock so they could just ship it out right away. |
Updat. I returned the item and they never said anything. Haven't refunded my money in a month so they literally stol me $235.00

There are two types of companies out there that you could do business with.
1) Companies that ask for payment up front, and/or authorize AND settle your credit/debit card up front. They basically take your money to buy the goods, and make money. The drawback is that they are at the mercy of the supplier. 2) Companies that take your payment information, but usually do an authorization on your card. The authorization automatically expires after 30 days if no settlement is done, so they have up to 30 days to fulfill your order before the funds are released from your account or credit limit. I personally prefer to deal with companies that don't take my money up front, because it's not fair. But to each their own. -alex |
BBB rating D+ I'm sure people might have a good service. Just my experience was horrible with them.

I can pay BBB money tomorrow and have any business become instant A+ overnight. |

Similar to Yelp reviews, where some companies have said that they can pay to "remove" bad ratings. Amazon is getting to that point, with all the paid reviews posted up by people that skew the ratings of products. -alex |
Update finally got my money returned.
|
Welp, I ordered a NED oil cooler (OEM style) two+ weeks ago...an order confirmation went out the same day, but no shipping notification so far. I was hoping to get it in time for a track day on the 7th, but the clock is ticking... I kinda wanted to give the guy a chance to redeem himself on here, plus the kit is perfect for my needs...hopefully he pulls through and I get it in time for the event. I'll update this thread accordingly.

The cooler and stud from a dealer, and lines and clamps from NAPA and you're good to go. :iono: |

Eliminating the runaround is exactly the appeal to me, and the price doesn't gouge too much for that convenience. Unfortunately, none of it is worthwhile if the dude doesn't get it out to me...still waiting. |

I'm kind of at a critical point right now...if they haven't shipped it yet, I doubt it'll get to me and still have time to install before next Thursday. I might be taking a trip to my local Subie dealer this afternoon to check price and availability of a few things..
|
Well, a somewhat encouraging update: just got a notice from NED that a USPS tracking number had been created for my order. Nothing actually received or shipped by USPS yet, but hopefully that will change later today. Still going to check out the dealer, just as a backup plan.
|
Late update: the item was finally left Florida the day before, and arrived the morning of the day I had planned on attending an event despite promises that it'd be delivered well in advance, so I'm a little miffed about that. All in all though, I kind of knew it was a gamble given the previous feedback, so I'm not really surprised. No complaints about the kit itself; only took something like 30-40 minutes to install, taking my time. You can do it cheaper yourself by ordering the individual pieces from your local Subaru dealer and not have to guess when the order will get shipped, or plan ahead and order it from NED waayyy in advance of needing it. I feel like this is about as neutral a rating as I can give; the kit is good and does what it's supposed to do and is the cheapest oil cooling solution by a factor of almost 2:1; the communication with the company is terrible.
|
Just to add another poor experience with them. I also ordered an NED oil cooler kit from them. 1-2 weeks ship time. Over three weeks went by, no update. Multiple v/ms left and emails sent, and received no response for nearly a week. Finally heard a response, was told at least three more weeks. I requested a refund, again more days to respond. Overall poor communication.
|
Yeah, it's a shame. It's like he actively goes out of his way to be unsuccessful. The kit sells itself, but the owner ruins the whole experience. You're better off just putting the kit together yourself, frankly. I mean, the cooler itself is just two parts from the dealer, and the rest is generic hose and clamps from your local auto parts store...
|
This is why I'm going to order all the parts myself and do it like for forester style.
|
Seriously, next time something like this happens, just file a chargeback with your credit card company. Don't even bother trying to resolve via communication, because businesses like this never learn unless you take your money away from them.
By continually patronizing this business, you just keep feeding the bad business and keep they afloat one more day. If they can't learn from multiple IDENTICAL mistakes on a single part, they deserve to be out of business. |

And price, so we can make an idea how much cost separately |

TBH, I did it out of laziness more than anything. I realize I gave them another few bucks in their pocket, but I foolishly hoped that the previous poor reviews were just flukes, and they'd have their act together for my order. Good companies DO have bad days, but it seems poor customer experience is the rule, not the exception in this case. Oh well...can't say I didn't try. lol I'm more than happy telling anyone who asks to stay away from them from now on. |
