16 inch wheels

Hello all,

I have some 205/60/16 snow tires on 16" rims from my previous car. The tires are an inch taller and I think they'll fit in that regard.

My question is has anyone put a 16" rim on a stock setup? Will the rims fit?

Thanks in advance!

Imho tires should, if they are even slightly smaller then 225/50 R17, which is reported to fit. That is if 16" wheel offset is not drastically different of your 17" to change things much.
As for rims themselves - "depends". Put them on and see brake caliper clearance for yourself. There are many 16", that fit (including 16" stock rims that GT86-es had in few countries for lesser trims), but it's possible to find one, that doesn't.

Thanks! I'll put them on today and check.

I just did this myself, I had a set of 2011 legacy wheels 16X 6.5 - 48 offset that I had a set of all seasons put on. We don't get a lot of snow here but it does get cold and the stock rubber is for the summer.

I did a test fit in the front and rear to see if the calipers cleared the wheels and I did not have an issue. Here are two good links to see how a wheel and tire combo will change things:

I was also concerned with the scrub radius but that did not change significantly for me.

I went with the 215/55 16 tires and it was pointed out that 195 would have been closer to stock. However, have been driving around a few days now with the new wheels and so far everything is fine. My speedo is dead on up to about 70 MPH, before it was 1 mph under actual. After 70 the speedo says 70 but GPS says 71.

These wheels put my car at maybe 1/3 inch higher I really don't notice it though.

if the wheels are 5x100 with a good offset or from a subaru they will fit. If not from a subaru you might need centering rings.

yes, they'll fit. I run 16" imprezza wheels on mine for the winter.
