Paragraphs are your friend if you want people to actually read what you post.

I am running the grimm-speed intake and oft stage 2 el flash. I like it so well I ordered and just received the Gruppe-s Uel header. I got a fantastic deal from them on black Friday. So after I get this unit mounted up I will probably put the modified cat less unit up for sale. I never got around to putting it on the dyno. None the less you can definitely feel more pull on bottom end and midrange.

I have been undecided about getting it ceramic coated. I have had numerous headers coated at Jet Hot (way over priced), and Performance Coatings in Jonesboro, Ga. I think my last Jet Hot shorty 4 cylinder coated and shipping to and from I spent over 200.00 . Its been 3 yrs ago and Performance coatings was 125.00. I seem to have read a recent post where they were up to 180.00 for a short tube 4 cylinder. The last coatings I have had were actually from my motorcycle's. I understand they run a little hotter on exhaust temp at just down stream from the head say 2 to 4 inches. But it just seemed to me the finish just did not hold up as nice as ones I had done 10 years ago.

I was motoring around Atlanta today in the frs and was headed home through Marietta Ga. I saw a small sign on the side of the road that said Custom Coaters. I got the number and called for directions it turns out I was 2 mins away. I go in and meet the owner they specialize in (CeraKote). He shows me samples that he has done. And they have a wide variety of colors. I did a lot of research on Cerakote and seem to be a heck of a lot better than Jet Hot and performance coatings. We talk pricing and I was blown away. He will do any 4 cylinder Cerakote for 85.00 and any v8 long tubes for 150.00 I couldn't believe his pricing.

So I am taking the header and over pipe to him on Monday, 1 to 2 day turn around. He shows me exhaust that he has finished and I am telling you the finish looks entirely better than anything I have had from Jet Hot and performace coatings and the pricing is a great deal. I don't know what shipping would be, but based on his pricing depending on your shipping it still seems like he is a great competitive price point. Given that there is not a 1 to 2 week turnaround on top of that.

If any body is interested his name is Scott Harper (Custom Coaters) 770- 652-7576. Web site is atlpowdercoating.com I gave him the info to the forum so he can get signed up as an official Vendor. I get this done next week and installed and heat cycled I will report back on durability. If its not too loud inside the car and I like it I will offer up the catless modded if anybody is interested. Best regards Steve

That's the best I could do Steve!

Firestorm, I really thank you. I printed it so now I have my tutorial. Thanks for looking out for us oldies. You have a great choice in Frs color as well. The red ones are the fastest ha. Best regards Steve
