Normal LTFT??

My LTFT is constantly between -5 to -2. After the engine is warmed and I give it some WOT, it will flatline at 0.00 and MAYBE go up to 2.67ish. Just wondering if this is normal before going to OFT E85. Currently running stage one OFT. Car is bone stock besides OFT.
Thanks :)

Generally speaking, your car is fine. LTFTs between -5% and +5% indicate relatively balanced fuel trims all things considered. Since you are hovering around -5% at idle, your car is running slightly rich (pulling fuel, hence the -%). At WOT, all fuel trims (STFT and LTFT) peg at 0% as the car switches from closed loop to open loop, so your observation is exactly as expected.

To be 100% sure of everything, we would need to know your STFTs as well. If they are wildly off, it could indicate a problem depending on the direction. Also good to know if you have any mods that affect air or fuel flow/metering or exhaust gas travel paths.

STFT levels are constant around -1 to +5. Nothing too crazy.

Seeing as LTFT is set by the consistency of STFTs, I'm pretty sure we know what the STFTs are likely to be ;)

Ah, sorry, didn't see your mod list. OFT maps generally cause a slight rich condition as they want to be safe to mitigate differences in fuel quality. Assuming your STFTs are +/-5%, everything is perfectly fine.

Yes, I agree that this is true assuming the STFTs are fluctuating in a reproducible manner based on throttle input and load. However, my understanding is that if there is a variable issue causing the STFT values to swing, the LTFTs may not reflect STFTs accurately. Maybe I'm wrong...

Steve is very knowledgeable. I agree with his response: i.e. clear the codes and see if they return. If they do, your best bet is to go to the dealer (after flash back to stock). In terms of the OBDII connector, I don't remember off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure that several pins are unused by OFT (hence they're missing in the OFT-side plug).

Generally speaking, anything below +/-8% is considered nothing to worry about.

Check your fuel trims at idle and 2500 RPM. You want them less than -/+10%. LTFT + STFT is your total fuel trim and that's what you want under 10.

Sel_brz17 05-07-2018 09:55 PM

MY Stft trim hovers arund -3%, which i think is fine.... myltft on the other hand hovers around -19% on idle and -15% while driving. I do believe its bc i got an injen intake on there. SHould i be worried? I really dont wanna take off injen intake but will do so if needed. What can happen if I continue to run my car at these readings? Thank you!
