Would the 2018 be the 5 year anniversary or the 86? If so a 2nd gen would be good timing.

AFAIK there has never been a SMMC (Scion Motor Manufacturing Co). The "brand" in this case is not the actual manufacturer. Scion never did any manufacturing. Every vehicle they sold was either Toyota, Daihatsu or in this case Subaru made (with Toyota's design/engineering contribution).

Yep. Don't even need to travel to see "Scion" models badged as Toyotas since the iA was the Yaris sedan in Canada all along. It never was a Scion here.

Car refresh's generally go in 3 or 4 year cycles to get the best bang for the buck out of body panels and such (the longer they are used the cheaper they become). We can probably count on at least two more models years with the basic looks (and ugly bumper) that it has for 17. The odds of having a gen two come out one MY year after a signifigent refresh are very remote. Stranger things have happened though.

Go read this and see if you can find any references at all to Scion:

No shit, sherlock, and also "whatever". Toyota blew a heck of a lot of money on the Scion corporate structure for just a "marketing arm", then. That is was sold as a Scion here in the US argues that they were involved in getting it brought to production.

Canadians are an angry bunch, eh?

10/10 good troll, you got tcoat to respond to it seriously.

Sadly he obviously was not trolling and really thinks Scion had some sort of influence over Toyota.

It is a long shot as I don't myself have too many lives left. However, an independent film this year starring a female executive had what appeared to be the antagonist, was at a top establishment in New York ordering Martini's in a T-shirt. It was probably a hundred dollar T-shirt though.

Actually, my first language is English; but I'm not very good at it. Fortunately, in my town, they have free Adult Education English classes. I'm not talking about Mickey Mouse english classes. Talking about teachers who can give you actual upgraded GPAs. Then, afterwards you can be like a boss!

You do understand that the 86 (FRS) & BRZ are all designed and made in Japan.

Scion had nothing to do with production. All they had to do was market the car since Toyota decided to badge it as a Scion to help the Scion brand recover from horrible sales.

You have to understand that Scion was just a small group of marketers that were technically Toyota employees.
