USB Hub?
Just wondering if anyone tried to use a usb hub in our cars to connect two or more devices through our main usb port? Did it work/will it work?
|
What's the purpose of this? Are you trying to connect different devices for media purposes or for charging? If it's for charging I would just use a Cigarette lighter adapter with multiple USB ports like this one.
https://www.amazon.com/Car-Charger-U...hter+usb&psc=1 I would check the cigarette lighter fuse first though, If i'm not mistaken it's a 7.5 amp fuse but I could be wrong. |

that brings up the question if our car will even detect multiple usb devices |
@FX86 I'd recommend just getting a dedicated charger instead of using the .5 Ah USB port these cars have, that's barely enough for most phones. I carry a Ravpower battery bank that can charge my USB C device rapidly ~3Ah, and it holds 21Ah. Much better solution than having a spaghetti of wires with a USB hub.
Also, what happened to using bluetooth? |

It depends on the head unit... the port itself is totally passive. For the Pioneer touch screen head units in the 2013-2015 FRS the manual specifically states that USB hubs are NOT supported. You will need to read the manual for the specific head unit in your car.:iono: |
