Some people, especially us tall ones, push the pedal all the way to the floor every time. That's always been my reference. I killed mine within a few thousand miles. It's junk.

I am pretty short so that makes sense.

thats exactly what happened to me, twice.

The felt is perfect. No rubbery feeling but still nicely padded. It lasts too.

Here's a picture. Stick it up in place of the stopper.

Reminds me of the time, I was driving an old tractor trailer rig down in Kentucky, when I came upon a toll booth late one night. As I was throwing change at the basket on the toll booth, I heard an evil hiss and the clutch assist line had broke.

I was already in low gear with the clutch almost disengaged when the toll booth didn't think I had fed it enough money and wouldn't raise the toll gate. I couldn't get the transmission back out of gear, when my leg gave out and ....... through the gate I went.

Nope, I didn't stop till I hit the West Virginia state line......:D

So aside from making metal on metal noise, is there any drawbacks on not having a stopper? Im pretty positive mine is also out.

Same as the works kick clutch pedal stop, just a ton cheaper. I don't think there is any issue with driving without any clutch stopper except the noise, but the feel does change a bit.

The "rest of the story" was that, after unloading the milk, I followed the river up to Ripley, Ohio, where my luck ran out (sort of). A young Ohio State Highway Patrolman pulled me over for not having a RR taillight, which had burnt out and he discovered I was only 17 years old and didn't have a CDL.

Since I wasn't loaded (empty tanks), he sent me off packing back to where I came from (Blanchester, Ohio), with a warning and a promise not to drive any tractor trailer until I got a CDL. He was a nice guy.

Ahhhhh ...... yes, the good ol days ...... "10 forward gears and a Georgia overdrive" ........ :thumbup:

Thank you for bumping this thread, I just had a look in my car and mine has split too 40.000km 2012 Gt86.

I felt like my car drove different the last couple of weeks. The bite point of the clutch felt higher, I almost decided to have the whole pedal adjusted..

Well now, now that I know where to look ........ I reckon I'll set up a series of mirrors and lights and take a look at mine.

Or, better yet, stick one of my granddaughters under there with a camera, have her take a picture and hand the camera back to me ...... ;)

Oh NO, not me, the last time I attempted to get into that footwell, I felt like a raccoon stuck in a have-a-heart trap ...... :confused0068:
