Android head unit and 2016 backup camera?

Will my stock backup camera work with the Joying Head unit?

No, you'll shoot your eye out, kid.

Yes, but you'll need to buy some additional parts and splice some wires. The good thing is you won't be splicing into the factory wiring, so you can always revert back to stock if needed. See my DIY here:http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111866

Nicely done. How are you liking it so far? Worth it? I see you have the BRZ, this would be the same for the FR-S?

I believe the wiring should be the same, except maybe Pin9 and Pin8 needs to be switched around on the 10pin harness, based on what I read. Skip the steering wheel control section since you don't have that on your 2016 FR-S.

The Joying I got was ok since it's android and I'm familiar with it, but very slow and laggy in some areas, like Google Maps was slow to load and very slow to search for addresses, I needed a reliable NAV so this was unbearable for me. I just upgraded to the new 2gb RAM units and that is MUCH FASTER. No lag whatsoever, very fast loading and smooth running multiple apps at the same time. No issues with Google Maps at all, but Google Maps require you to be online, and offline maps is usually slow. It comes with another NAV App, called iGO My Way, which I'm very familiar with used on my old 2012 Elantra, great for offline navigation. I recommend you get the 2gb unit, they are around the same price, so it's a no brainer.

Where did you order it from?
