FR-S headunit replacement

Has anyone done this yet?

I stopped by Futureshop last night and they had a bunch on sale.. including the Pioneer AVIC-X930BT for $499 (its a GPS unit).

Now I believe this is almost the exact same one that is in the BRZ in Canada (maybe they have the 940), but would it be basically plug and play or would it still have to be rewired

You need to get a Wiring kit and mounting bracket. You will also need an antenna adapter.
Take a look in the Audio section of the forum you will see a DIY guide and model #'s of the parts you will need. :)

You need those spacer things on each side

That's almost identical to the one we have in our BRZs and it's quite good. I'm very happy with it. Just enough physical buttons. The resistive touch screen is a little frustrating sometimes but they ALL are.

AppRadio 2 has a capacitive touch screen.

3 things turned me off of it..
1. lack of cd/dvd drive
2. i have an android and apparently i then require some sort of addon for it which costs $250
3. the touch screen sucks
