2013 Cars and FI

I remember a post a while back stating that 2013 models were not as reliable when going FI. I can't seem to find that thread or post.
Does anyone know of any areas of concern when going FI on a 2013 model?

Generally speaking, any first model year has more issues. I seem to remember a VVTI/cam issue being the big thing with 13s?

Maybe that was it. Was there a fix for that issue? I have 50k on the motor and will be going FI next year spring. Just want to make sure everything is good before that.

I've read somewhere that rocker arms are different PNs from MY13 & MY14+. If they're better or different no idea, could just be supplier change.

I can confirm they are different PN. I thought I had a rocker going for the longest time and I just found out its likely the vacuum pump running off one of the cams lol. First major issue with my car and its been doing it since almost new.

There is always risk when going FI. The issues that the early 13s had may raise that risk marginally but it would not be significant enough to worry much about. Odds are if you haven't had the problems now even at stock then they will not impact your FI setup.

I'm running SC 10lb of boost (give or take) on a '13 and seems fine. Course, everything will probably seem fine until it goes :)

My '13 is boosted, no issues.

kmbkk 11-26-2016 08:14 PM

I've been FI for 50k+ miles with no issues on my '13.

My car is a 2013 model and I've been supercharged for over 20K miles. So far, so good.

This is making me feel alot more confident.
