$400 seems pricey? How much was your fluid?
Pads should be about $125 +/- per axle for HP+.

Jvincent, see Mike at No Limits here in O-Town if you're local.
He'll hook you up.

Btw, you probably don't "need" braided lines, but certainly no downside to doing them.

Thanks for the pointer.

Once my OFT arrives I'll post my impressions.

Tracking info says it is in Canada clearing customs. Soon..........

Also have a drop-in filter on the way as well.

Tablet arrived today. Just heading to the garage now to start the process. Will post updates about the drive in tomorrow.

In case not everyone is following the OFT thread, here are my impressions so far.

After the initial few minutes of the ECU relearning, everything seems good. It was the coldest day of the year so far, below freezing, but here's what I have noticed.

- Idle is smoother. No surprise here since it was raised to 700 RPM.
- Definitely noticed more pull going through the 3000 to 4000 RPM range.
- Seem to run smoother when just cruising along at 2500 RPM or so.

It was about 10 days from when I placed the order IIRC.

Good stuff. I understand the dip is gone from 4000-4500 right? So smoother all the way through to redline now?

The passing lane better watch out!

Back onto the topic of tracking, what do you guys bring with you to the track and where do you store it when you are on the track?

Assuming you aren't changing tires at the track, do you guys empty all the loose stuff (spare, jack, cupholder) plus everything else you bring into a specific location?

As far as other stuff goes, what do you guys bring in terms of tools and supplies?

I'm putting some track friendly tires/rims (18x8 +35 TSW Nurburgrings + 225/40 Pilot Super Sports) on my Xmas and birthday lists, so there's a pretty strong possibility I'll be hitting Calabogie next season.

Slick 11-12-2013 07:59 PM

Norman pretty much summed it up.

I bring a lockable hard bin to store my spare helmet, spare brake pads, rags, fluids, and my shoes after I swap to track shoes. Keeps everything dry and I don't need a tarp this way.

I also bring a gas can (very necessary as the closest station has been running out of gas recently), but not a tool box other than a screwdriver and wrench to remove my plates. If you swap wheels, then you'll need your jack and torque wrench. Air pressure gauge is key and pyrometer is great as Norman mentioned.

Thanks guys.

One more question, where do you pick up a helmet?

Slick 11-12-2013 08:45 PM

You can use a motorcycle helmet, must be Snell approved, class M. So any bike shop will have some around the $100 range and you can try it out right there.

Class SA are road-racing helmets, starts around $300 and up, but overkill for lapping unless you have the bucks to spend.

LOL. Would never have thought that Norm, you don't seem like a XXL type guy. You must have a big brain.

Alternatively, I'm a XSmall (no kidding). Must be the no hair thing, takes less room.

Jokes aside, just make sure the Snell designation is 2010. There may be still 2005's out there :iono:, but just be sure to check. A few years ago. I had to fork out $600 for a new SA helmet (Mosport track store), because my current one was out of date and they wouldn't let me run otherwise.

2005's are still legal for now, but you don't want to have to buy another one in a few years.
