I will be attending this Friday.

Hi Andre. Is there a place to sit and watch the action? My wife, son and I will be coming up to check it out.

There are a few good places to watch: from the balcony at the builds near quarry (pit in), from the top of quarry or pit straight. Flag me down and I'll take you out or a few laps!

Learned a few things tonight.
Calabogie is a great facility and Ottawa is lucky to have it.
Having the ambulance go out 5 minutes into the session was not a good start for my wife.
The FRS is plenty quick ( especially when driven by an expert ) nice job Andre. Yours was the only car to drift out of the last corner. Which sadly, also freaked my wife out even after I informed her that it was intentional.
Next time I think i will leave the family at home. Between the I feel car sick on the way down, to it's too hot, I am hungry, its too dangerous for my son, I'm thirsty. I had to leave at 5:50 pm to find food.

I am glad I was able to see the facilities and the enthusiasts out for some fun and I promise the next time i will be solo to enjoy the whole experience.
Lesson learned.

Oh you saw? Oops, sorry about that. :iono:
With the super hot track tonight, it was even more loose. I played a bit wih tire pressures to minimize it, but the car is designed that way. Tires and shocks can fix that.

It happened literally just as you were heading into the staging lane. I don't think it was anything serious because the ambulance did not leave the facility.

I would like that. Looked like alot of fun. Nice seeing all the different cars there, although I will have admit, the civic hatchback looked out of place. Having said that though he was having more fun than I was.

As posted in Ottawa FR-S thread:

Hi Guys,
FYI, I am heading up to Calabogie tomorrow afternoon for a track session from 5-7pm.

If anyone is interested, I'm more than willing to take passengers for some laps if you want to see the capabilities of the FR-S on the track.

Before the track session, we will also be taking the twisty roads from Carleton Place to get to Bogie in early afternoon.

Some more fun in store for this year at Calabogie Motorsports Park just outside Ottawa, Ontario.

Here are this year's MCO lapping events:

  • Friday, May 24th - 9am-5pm full track, this day will likely be an HPDE school with full day instruction (classroom and in-car) at no additional cost, newbies are welcome!
  • Monday, July 8th - 9am-5pm - we will be using the stadium track, short loop. This will great great for our cars.
  • Thursday, August 22 -5pm-7pm evening session on full track
Plan your schedule for the year and come out!

Bookings will be done online (hopefully soon) through Karelo.com website (type MCO to search for our events).

Ask for me at the track, will be happy to help out or take you out for a hot lap!

Andre

Thanks for the info! I'm planning on going to the May 24 HPDE.

Are you going to be still using the stock tires still this season for lapping?
Excellent, will be great to have you there again.

Stock tires? Let's say I hope not, but we'll see how things pan out. Gonna be a long 3 months until season start...

Slick 02-24-2013 08:51 PM

Registration is now open for the first 2 lapping events.

See Karelo.com to sign up.http://www.karelo.com/register.php?B...&BT=10#Ev12991

If you're not confident in your abilities, leave VSC Sport on and drive at most 7/10ths. If you are confident in your abilities, drive to your comfort level. Just remember that you have to get home.
