Stock Pioneer infotainment system - questions about tuning and navigation

Hello,

Just got a 2016 FR-S yesterday. Couple of questions about the Pioneer system:
1) With radio, the up-down arrows: short push goes to next frequency, long push for seek. These are the only possibilities, correct? I'd much prefer to set it so a short push goes to the next preset, not the next frequency, is that possible? It seems the only way to tune from preset to preset is to use the touch screen, but that's not very convenient.
2) The dealer said it is possible to add navigation to the system for about $200, is that correct? If so, how to do it?

Thanks,
p

1. dunno, it'll be unit specific. (edit: the owners manual might say)
2. adding nav is usually a supplemental module that wires into the HU, and has an antenna that goes in the dash hood.

you didn't ask but:
3. If you want nav before spending money on it, research aftermarket units with android auto/apple carplay. you get nav from your phone + all the other nice features of an aftermarket unit, and the FRS makes it so easy to install an after market unit their practically begging you to do it.. IMO anyways. I have a pioneer avh-4100NEX for reference.

Why get NAV when you can use Google Maps on your phone. It's better than any NAV system out there and it's free except for using your phone data unless you have unlimited.

OK thanks for the replies. I've never before seen an HU where you can't toggle through the presets, don't like having to use the touchscreen to change stations.
