Spacesaver spares

Seen a couple of threads on this but thought I'd chime in - I bought a brand new (as in unused) WRX spacesaver in 5x100 with the right offset and within 5% of the rolling diameter of the OE wheels today for $80 - spacesaver tyres alone are astronomically expensive (around $280-$300) if you've ever had to replace one.

Benefits:

Lighter than the OE full size spare
Cheap!
Means you can have a flat boot floor if you want.
Now have 5 wheels to rotate if you keep the OEs.
No fix-a-flat cans

Heaps on ebay or around the place.

Oh nice!

I might check that out then :D

Nice! I am keen to get a space saver too (never thought I would hear myself say that before this car LOL)
Maybe we can get a group buy on flat boot liner things?

Try the boys at Option 1 Garage in Brissie (They even sat with me and measured it up) for spacesavers.

Will see what I can do with my US contacts for flat floors - There's the cover and the liner to consider.

First choice get a cover made locally and an aftermarket liner - which will come here anyway through companies like Booter (Great if like me you want to put tyres and stuff in the boot - I have one in the F-Sport which is bulletproof and great for track days as you can pull it out and use it as your worksurface/parts/bolts/bits catcher.).

When my car arrives I'll see about getting a "flat floor" made which will be cheaper than getting an import - and will keep the original pristine - once I get a template it'll be easy for either DIY or a group buy.

Any pics?

I'm also looking for one but there seems to be a couple of different ones around - with and without holes on the center of the rim, yellow vs black. I just want to find the right one that is guaranteed to fit.

Thanks

Yeah not a bad idea to do a group buy on parts such as liner, tool kit, jack etc.
