Anyone Using Blu Smartphones?

I'm looking to replace my Nokia smartphone since the screen is cracked and been looking at options. I only buy my phones Unlocked and don't deal with contracts etc...

However I found out about Blu recently and see they have some good phones for the most part.

Really interested in the Blu Vivo 5 which costs $270.00CDN.

I don't do much on my phone, however I'd like to be on a Android platform since the apps actually get updated unlike my Windows currently. I'm by no means a heavy user. In fact a phone is the last thing on my list of items i need or use. I just want to get a new phone since as posted above, my current phone has a cracked screen.

Just wanted to know if anyone uses these phones on a daily basis and if they are happy with them or not.

Be careful with the budget unlocked Android phones...

Why not a Nexus 6p or Nexus 5x?

They are great phones and fairly cheap. Or even the Moto G, those are close to stock Android and also unlocked.

When I read something like this...I'm more paranoid to even buy a smartphone now haha.

I've never ocnsideredd those phones. I'll have a look at them.

By the way, thank you very much for the article! I'll share this information with my wife who also is thinking about the Blu phone

I would avoid that one... The Blu Vivo 5 is missing band 12 LTE (700 MHZ band, better at building penetration/etc in urban areas)...

Check out the OnePlus 3

A bit more expensive than the vivo5, but still very affordable as far as unlocked phones go. I paid apple $1500ish for mine.

Also, I think Google's new Pixel phone can be bought unlocked... little pricier than the OnePlus 3, but is said to be the best 'pure android' experience... Samsung and the like tend to junk them up with crapware.

Well it's either China or here pick your poison.

Been on the news lately that Samsung J5 and S7 are also catching fire not just the Note 7.

OnePlus 3 seems like a pretty good deal for what you get but people have mentioned that long term reliability could be an issue. My friend has one for almost 6 months and it has been flawless.

Another happy oneplus 3 uswr here. For $400USD it is hard to beat. Though the Pixel is a killer phone, just paying premium price for it.

Just make sure they work on the same bands as your provider when buying unlocked

Ya For that price I'd rather have my Nexus 5X. They're being phased out and prices are going to drop. Also I really loved the support / warranty I was able to buy on it.

Also the name Blu reminds me of those disgusting e-cigs.

I didn't know Blu e-cigs made cell phones too

My phone can send any of my texts to China. They would be incredibly disappointed to open them up and find 5,000 texts that all say "OK".
