We finally had a chance to tune TJ Hunt's latest revision of his 86 platform. Currently the new modifications include.

Outfront Motorsports - Built Engine
Edelbrock Supercharger - Smallest Pulley
Delicious Tuning Flex Fuel Kit - E85 Fuel

Definitely a great way to make 400+whp as a daily driver and still be able to run ACN 91 octane if there is no E85 around.

Dyno Chart:
red - E85 fuel

Do you have more info regarding the engine build and pulley used:

On the engine build, what CR did he go with?

The smallest Edelbrock offering is 2.75", but there is a 2.625" pulley that some have sourced elsewhere. Which one is this?

Saw this yesterday pretty cool, wonder how many transmissions he'll be going through...

Still wondering what he replaced in the engine, every video I've watched of his is like... "Yeah so we built the engine". Can you be more vague lol, guessing just rods and pistons, maybe valve springs...

I'd love to know what sort of numbers this would make on 92/93 (what we call 98). Would the dyno line be closer to the pink or red? I'd guess pretty much in the middle.

Good results. So much for the people that said this kit can make 400hp on pump gas! 280whp is approx 320hp fly which is still very good.

Judging by the massive gains on E85 it reckon that IATs are high and limiting power on 91 fuel as the E85 add 48% power! Can you confirm William?

So Ted posted these results with a stock motor, 3 inch (14psi) pulley, E85 and supporting fueling mods like injectors and pump along with a stiffer clutch.

TJ's built motor supposedly kept the stock 12.5:1 compression ratio and uses a smaller 2.75 inch pulley that should make a whole 6psi more boost, but it only put down 19whp more?

Was TJ's belt slipping like crazy on the dyno? He did mention at the end of his video that he shredded the belt on the street doing pulls.

Delicious' mustang dyno is known for showing lower numbers; on a dynojet his numbers would likely have been closer to 500 than 420...

didn't he juts buy a GTR? Blowing an engine on a car he doesn't even drive would only boost his channel views..

General response to everyone questions:

We have tuned over 1300 BRZ's, FR-S, 86's around the world we have seen and the reason for the engine build is that we have seen that make at or 350 whp, the rods will start to bend and break. Though it takes a fair amount of hard driving, it will fail and why we recommend building the engine above 350whp.

Personally we wanted to see what the max was we could hit while still being able to run "True" Flex Fuel which would allow TJ to run ACN 91 or E85 whenever he wanted. Best part was even on ACN 91 octane we still manage to pick up 30 ft/lbs of torque over the standard pulley between 2K and 6K RPM and still be reliable for daily use.

According to the compressor map on these superchargers the efficiency area of these superchargers is up to about 15 psi. The intercoolers are still working really well and the supercharger is not generating too much heat. With that in mind you get a cooler denser charge (more air) which allows the tuner to increase timing, lean it out, play with the cams and make power.

When you start pushing above 15 psi the heat starts to increase dramatically and at 20 psi the supercharger is generating enough heat that the intercoolers cannot quite cut it and so you need to dial the tune back a bit on the top end.

But the real cool thing about the 20 PSI pulley is the mid-range rod snapping torque as seen in the dyno chart we supplied. By 4000 RPM's we are at 300 ft/lbs and still climbing. Because if this we really wanted TJ to build the engine so he can enjoy for a long time.

Engine Build Includes:
- Outfront Motorsports "Grocery Getter". Which includes upgraded rods and pistons.
- The compression is 12.5:1. We are not a a fan of lowering compression on these engines.

Still doesn't explain why his car was relatively down on power for that compression ratio and boost pressure. I'm guessing either the belt or the clutch or both were slipping on the dyno.
