Steering feels mushy
 

It was fine this morning driving to work. Decided to go out to lunch and the steering all of a sudden doesn't feel as stiff. It is as if it has more play in it than normal and feels sloppy and imprecise. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any ideas what might cause this to happen? Fully stock, no modifications.

Check your tire pressure. Nothing should happen with the car just sitting there.

Haven't checked the tire pressure yet and I did not get a TPMS light on the dash.

I will definitely do that first when I'm off work.

I have noticed that the TPMS sometimes does not go off until you drive for a bit even if very low pressure. Sort of defeats the purpose of having it really.

Yep, as Tcoat mentioned ....... put at least 35 psi in each tire ...... then report back.

I'll betcha you picked up a nail/screw and it's causing a slow leak.

What about running over a rock?

Running over a really big rock could break the tire seal ..... let some air out and snap back in place and reseal.

A small sharp piece of rock could cause a puncture.

If you were out in the boonies ......... wait for it ......:eyebulge:

It'll feel mushy and even pull if one or more are off by only a few PSI. I'm no Senna but I've never driven a car so sensitive to changes in tire pressure. It's uncanny.
