I will probably only have this sort of luck once in my life...
I went to my downtown tax collector office today to take care of my car registration. I only put a quarter in the meter hoping this would be a semi-quick process. The meter of course expired and when I went back to the car a ticket was already on there. Fucked? Nope. I had taken in the temp tag inside and in order to read the VIN it would appear you have to place your head down on the hood and look sideways... luckily a temp pass from my military installation was sitting on my dash so they read my VIN from that. The person that gave me my temp pass had copied my VIN down incorrectly. So I was given a warning ticket that wont even attach to my car since the only information on there about my vehicle was incorrect.
In all the other vehicles I've owned the VIN is easily read from an upright position... I guess this time that one aspect and human laziness worked to my advantage. Either way I'm not planning on making a habit of this... I'm sure next time they will just tow it. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7107/7...18a3d6f3_c.jpg parking violation by Pufftography, on Flickr |

Thank you for posting this. I am the meter maid that couldn't read your VIN. I will trace your IP address and send you the real ticket in the mail. :)
Everyone has to get some good luck every once in a while right? |

Haha man, if only it were that simple. To give you a head start here is my IP: 127.0.0.1 now you can hack me too. ;) It was probably some luck... and mostly the meter person not wanting to make the effort needed to ticket a car that had no tags and no easily readable VIN... |

Because you got a no fine warning for at least two violations = you have magically stepped into Toyobaruland. Watch what happens next (when you wake up).
