Urgent need of help

Hello guys, thank you for taking your time to read this, as I am at the moment loosing my marbles.

I've owned a 2012 86 (Australia) for about 8 months now, however, recently I noticed an excess amount of oil being spilled over the ground below. I did some research online "Toyota 86 oil leak" and the answers came up alluding to the potential CAM plate being faulty, and that I should order an aftermarket Raceseng cam plate. I haven't driven the car ever since.

Now, I am not 100% sure if it's the faulty CAM plate causing the leak, but let's assume it's, would the Toyota dealership replace it for free, considering my car is a 2012 model ?

Thank you so much

Is your car under warranty or has the part been recalled? If so yes if not probably not.

Have you started with the basics such as checking the oil plug? The cam plate leaks are certainly not unknown but they have historically been small enough to not create puddles on the ground (there is a lot of stuff to get through before hitting the ground).
If there is an excessive amount on the ground then you should be able to easily see where it is coming from.

Check your drain plug first. If you don't have the tools or desire to pull the engine cover (skid plate) take it in.

Above all else, keep a close eye on your oil consumption.

In addition, I suggest you check and make sure the oil filter is not leaking.

Is your car have a manual transmission ..??

Yes, it's manual and there is also a lot of oil underneath....
Could would I need a sump reseal ?

Have you checked the oil plug and filter seal????

There are 1,000 places it could come from. We could give you the whole list but it would be meaningless when we can't see where it is coming from. Just look for trails down the engine and trace it back.
Take a look at this for some of the "normal" areas that leak: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1413834741
