Remember this

I remember back then a topic of the FT86 concept I about the LCD gauge cluster.

Then I was reading this today

Maybe we will be seeing a digital cluster after all or maybe an option :iono:

This means a lot if you have a WP7. Can't wait for the apps that come from this joint.

I'm old fashion in this regard and prefer an analog tach. Hopefully this wont be standard and only an option.

OldSkoolToys 04-07-2011 02:54 AM

Yeahh, I need my needles mang!

@the news: as long as auto-makers continue to offer cars in a trim that doesn't have a single piece of scrap of this crap in it, I'm fine...otherwise I'll be stuck in the past with my cars forever.

I dunno... I don't always trust technology in vehicles... :/

john 04-07-2011 03:38 AM

Absolutely nothing from Micro$oft is cheap. They steal your money the dirtiest ways and some people don't even know it. The only thing I find technologically useful in a car when driving is a GPS. Anything other than that is distracting.

xantonin 04-07-2011 04:24 AM

Can't wait to see what happens when you car BSOD's

bit more info here, but it says hybrid & electric vehichles only atm, but i'd prefer an old school gauge

LOL. That would SUCK. :/ Middle of driving and your odometer.. speedometer and fuel meter just goes..

"Error"

That would SUCK so bad. :/ Especially since its not exactly like a computer... Man.. D:

idk about you guys but I havnt seen a bsod since i switched to windows 7 last year. I do wish they were working with google though. Google is better with mobile applications and google maps as the gps would be sick

OldSkoolToys 04-07-2011 04:48 AM

Hahahahahahaha, Blue screen 'o death on your cluster?

Yeah, no...another reason to keep shit simple with your car.

serialk11r 04-07-2011 04:50 AM

Blue Screen of Death

I think people exaggerate how unstable Windows is, I only ever got BSODs with actual hardware issues, or if I bumped the hard drive causing it to shut down, or if I overclocked something.

ditto, you dont hear barely any problems with windows 7 now, apart from hardware issues

serialk11r 04-07-2011 05:05 AM

I was actually talking about XP. I've never gotten a BSOD in Win7, although I think this is because Win7 responds differently to some problems. I've only been on 7 for 6 months ish...

Used XP for like 9 years lol, 4.5 of which were when I was messing around with the computer.

All that said, why the hell do people want so many things to do while they're driving? Isn't the road and gauges enough to watch?
