A question about colour!

Im in the "fortunate" position of buying my second BRZ this year after I wrote off my white 2016.

I love all the colours! So rather than ask about favourite colours, what I want to know is...

Do you ever wish you bought a different colour?

Ultramaroon 11-03-2016 02:11 AM

Nope. I fall in love with mine a little more every time I see other colors.

What colour is that?

I'm thinking I'll probably get another white. I felt love every time I saw it, so I expect that to continue. Just ... it's a new chapter.

krayzie 11-03-2016 07:50 AM

Everybody seems to be able to get a blue or a white around here, but I couldn't and ended up with a grey.

Love the Green Chrome.

On the bright chrome, the owner of a local wrap shop near me has an F250 that was wrapped like this at one point (he changes it about once every six months). You DO NOT want to be in or around it when the sun hits it. It's blinding to other drivers.

I'm running a WRB and not once have I thought I should have bought a different colour.

This. [/thread]

I have a WRB BRZ and love it, except for when I meet up with other 86 owners and there are 5 out 8 that are also WRB. I do like the dark grey.

Never have quite understood the WRB "obsession", it's just another shade of blue. Then again, I like Red so what do I know! :)

My WRX was WRB and looked awesome, but it was nothing on a shiny new white BRZ.

WRB is the only color that Subaru needs.

extrashaky 11-03-2016 11:44 AM

I thought I might regret Lightning Red, but I don't. This color looks good even when it's dirty. I got some black dust on it a while back, and rather than make it look dirty, it accentuated the curves of the car and looked like I had covered it in some kind of black lacquer clearcoat for highlights. Having owned both black and white vehicles in the past, both look dirty all the time if you don't keep them meticulously clean. Plus they blend into their surroundings and make them difficult to see. I don't have that problem at all with the red.

Leonardo 11-03-2016 12:40 PM

I love my argento (silver) , but would have also bought white or wrb. (If scion was available in that color)

Ultramarine but it's almost as finicky as black. White is the most versatile by far.

I love wrb too but I specifically wanted minimum bells & whistles.

The Twin is my first jap car and I bought it for what it's about not so much about the baggage behind the Subaru badge.

I ran various colours in the past and fancied something different and WRB is something different especially in the UK.

That's an easy one, because it was white..

dgm is the best color imo. it catches people off guard when its out in the sun. i get so many questions about it from 'thats a custom color?' 'damn that thing must be custom paint' 'wait the paint came like that??'

ToySub1946 11-03-2016 08:43 PM

I wish they made these cars in additional colors.

I'd love a dark green.

Also wish Hyper blue was already available in the 2017 model year.

Personal taste...I don't care for the WRB color.

My car is Ultramarine...quite happy with it, despite that it shows scratches easily. Also, it's dark color keeps the car warm inside, when parked, even on cool winter days with overcast skies. Not so good on hot days this color.

My other car is silver...very practical for not showing dirt, scratches, and reflects sunlight almost as well as white.

It would surely be nice if Subaru put better, harder paint on these cars. Paint currently used is just too fragile.

Under good light, CWP is great, but every now and then I come across a WRB BRZ and feel like my car is less of a Subaru

Yes DGM also has a hint of blue hue under certain lighting conditions. It's very Subaru.

SuperDave 11-04-2016 01:50 AM

Wrb here, i love it but it wasn't even my first choice. I wanted white, red, orange but then when I saw wrb i was stunned.

I do wish i got orange though, under the sun it's amazing.

I only researched/bought a BRZ because I saw the Hyperblue :)

Hyperblue is gorgeous. I would have really struggled if it was available when I was in the market.

ztrevs 11-04-2016 03:38 AM

I've got a CWP and KIND of wish I got the DGM.

Everyone in my city has a damn white car. The car looks great though in white don't get me wrong... its just the color loses its appeal every time I see another white car.
And then i wash it, give it a nice wax and my love for white starts all over again.

The cycle keeps repeating. :bonk:

g e 11-04-2016 01:32 PM

I really like my 2013 silver Limited. Looking at the brochures before the car was in production I favored the pearl white. Saw the car in the flesh at a car show and it was silver... I knew it was the color I wanted.

It's an elegant, soft silver. Kinda retro. Like an old Aston Martin might wear.

I would like to see it in British Racing Green just for fun

Pointmutation 11-04-2016 02:48 PM

Nope. I love blue and went with the BRZ in WRB. Haven't regretted that decision once. I do wish the BRZ was offered in more colors though, like a dark brown or gold. Then I may think twice about my WRB.

Jeff D 11-04-2016 03:09 PM

GBS, only color I wanted. Thankfully I was lucky enough to find a low mileage one since that color was long gone before I was ready to buy.

+1 for dark green.

DarkSunrise 11-04-2016 03:25 PM

Love white aesthetically on this car, but it is annoying to keep clean.

For colors that should be easier to keep clean (aka colors for lazy people like me), red was my second choice and it still looks great. WRB also looks fantastic.

spicyricecake 11-04-2016 03:59 PM

WRB or CWP is the way to go.

WRB pops in a crowd. CWP really brings the lines of the car out, and is easier to maintain from swirls.

Both are pretty common colors for 86 owners, but i'll say more people have white cars, and among those 86s, compared to a blue car.

So if I got a 2nd car it'd be a white one, but I'm happy with my WRB
