Handbrake drls

Whenever I pull the ebrake in neutral, I have noticed that the DRLs shut off. The only related mod I have is the DiodeDynamics always on module. I was wondering if this is a normal thing for these cars and if so is there a way to turn it off?

Read it. It's standard but no indication of how to disable. Oh well.

It's normal for most cars.

Why would you want to disable that?

Don't use the hand brake? Just leave the car in gear when you shut it off.

Just turn off the DRLs.

I was more curious to know why it's a feature to begin with. Also, I use the ebrake at stop lights sometimes and don't like the idea of the DRLs turning off. I feel even less people will notice me near them.

By feature, I meant them turning off btw.

Well if it's still daytime, they should be running right?? Lol

They're lights that turn on while you're running during the day time. If handbrake is on, thats a good reason for the car to think you wont be running :P
Its like asking why brake lights dont come on when you're not braking.

Original purpose of DRLs was to enhance safety by providing a visual signal during daytime to others that your car is moving towards them.
This is also why they normally turn off when low beams come on (also because those bright LEDs may be blinding to some).

Things change with time though, not sure what default DRL settings for other cars are.
I personally wish it wasnt this way, just to make it easier to take pictures of my car with the DRL on, but oh well.

Also.. why e-brake at a stop light... still learning MT on hills?
