brake expert help please
 

Ebc Greenstuff pads were put on a honda fit fr wheels. A wurring noise appeared after this at 30 or greater mph from fr wheel. Louder on highway. Very very high level of brake dust present. I'd clean wheels and in a week wheel coverd by dust. Tech couldn't find cause. I had new rotors installed and sound diminished a little. Braked pads showed uneven wear. Now tech said its likely pads. 2 months of this.
And tires are brand new.

Please help me.

What kind of "tech" are we talking about? Cause any mechanic, and I will tell you it's a stuck caliper.
Either get the rebuild kit, or swap out calipers. Any brake shop would do both. The rebuild kit would cost less.

The cheaper fix, swap out brake pads. Any pads would do, it's really just to rule out the stuck caliper or shit ebc pads. If you get more dust on the same wheel, then it's a stuck caliper.

I agree with the stuck caliper piston. You should pull the caliper and see if the pistons can be compressed properly. Then with that caliper still off, press the brake a few times to see if the pistons are moving like they should. You'll need to compress them again after to get them back over the rotor and pads.

You'll need new pads on that side either way it sounds like.

Probably a stuck caliper. Uneven pad wear and huge amounts of dust....

More information about the car would be helpful (and essential, IMO).

Could be as simple as a stuck caliper slide. I don't think he has a stuck caliper rubbing against the rotor - as that could result in total braking failure by overheating the brake fluid.

After a drive with moderate braking, check the brake temps of each corner of the car. If one is stuck you should be able to tell a difference in heat output just by holding your hand right by the hub. Or you could use an infared thermometer gun (they're less than $15).

By "tech" I mean mechanic.

After replacing the rotor and still hearing the noise I was almost sure it was a stuck caliper. Others told me the same thing as well. So yesterday I had the mechanic check the calipers and rotors. All were good though.

The car is an 09 honda fit sport with 83,000 miles.

I was going to order the new Stoptech sport pads. But I may just have the mechanic just install some regular pads though.
Any more info that I can provide?

Which pad is more worn? you can easily check for a stuck caliper. I know your mechanic said it was fine, but unless you installed something incorrectly this is going to be a stuck caliper or similar issue.

Gonna say both are pretty bad since both wheels have plenty dust.

How can I test to see if it is a stuck caliper?

The quick and easy way is with a temp gun. As with a stuck caliper the rotor would get hot because of the constant pad contact.

So take a 5-10 min drive do some above average braking. Come back and take temps of the rotors. You'll notice a higher number on the one that is stuck.

The long way, jack the car up have some one pump the brakes, then use feeler gauges. And yes there is specs on how far the pad and rotor must be. You'll have to see the repair manual for that one. I can't call it up from the top of my head.
