Specs for BRZ Performance Package wheels?

Hey Yo's,

Anyone have the specifications for these new wheels? :iono: Also, simpler question that seems to not be coming up in searches for me is: what are the specifications for the BRZ oem wheels?

Thanks

tomaszjanczak 10-31-2016 10:43 PM

I could be wrong, but I think the only known spec is that they are 17x7.5

You are correct it seem. I am now wondering: weight and manufacturing process or possibly who makes them and model name.

Do you know the weight and process of the stock BRZ wheels?

Thank you

I know the 13-16 BRZ wheels are just about 20 lbs. As for the process, I'm pretty sure low pressure cast. The 17+ BRZ wheels, I don't know the weight, but I'm going to assume they will be low pressure cast and probably weigh about the same too.

That is not bad at all for stock 17x7 rims. Thank you.

oem wheels i believe are 17x7 +48 not sure about the performance package offset for the 17x7.5 that come with those.

I'm pretty sure the car isn't even out yet.

it seems no one knows or has it or anything. I would think a parts person would know what a replacement would be as people are getting deliveries this month i hear. Sadness!

That would be ironic. I really do think.

17x7.5 45 offset for those still wondering...

s203.22b 02-25-2017 05:36 PM

Offset for PP wheels is +48. It's cast into the wheel.

I'm guessing there was a pic there? If so, I stand corrected I will have to look for myself when mine gets here... ;)

The approximation is not the specs. I appreciate the link however. I need to know the exact weight so I can determine if a new wheel and tire weight is notably better or not.

I wish someone would just dismount the tire and weight a rim, or a dealer/part guy weigh one. Tall order it seems. I will try and do so at some point when I get mine.

I would like to know this too.

I replaced oem with wheel/tire I had on my 2013 brz. I had to add a spacer for the front to fit the brakes. oem tire/wheel weighed 42.6 lbs

prattusa 03-10-2017 06:22 PM

they are +48 offset and the brembo calipers "just" clear them

How big of a spacer did you need to use?

RBman 03-16-2017 11:36 PM

I used 15mm.

What kind of spacers do you have? with or without the columns/nuts?
i have too 15mm spacers but with columns, and to mount them without the wheel touching them I had to cut a few millimeters out of the stock lugs

ok, makes sense

FYI, GT86 TRD wheels are forged, 17 x 7.5 with a 43mm offset. Much better in my opinion. I'm looking at them for my new BRZ limited.

R_E_L 08-30-2018 02:37 PM

EDIT: didn't realize it was covered in the link above.

22 LBS for those looking

Double Edit: That's apparently an estimation, any exact numbers out there for the wheel alone?

That would be great, were you able to weigh it like that?

I'll take one into work when I get a chance

Can someone confirm whether or not the Eibach bolt on spacers will work with the factory Performance Pkg wheels?

My concern is that the bolt on ones require the wheels have pockets on the backside to clear the factory studs when the spacer is bolted down.

Took my wheel off, found a 20mm H&R spacer with 5x100 pattern and did some measurements with dial calipers. Appears I have about 0.050”-0.085” clearance between the poke of the studs through the spacer and the recessed area of the wheel pockets.

Poke: ~0.175”
Pocket: 0.225” to 0.260”

Still couldn’t hurt to have someone with actual use confirm. :)

Thanks!

Just for reference:

slightly used 2018 PP BRZ wheel and tire combo weight on my industrial scale: 39.5 lbs

new WedsSport TC105N 17x9 +35 and 255/40/17 RE71R combo: 15.5 + 24 = 39.5 lbs
with weights and brake dust should be about 40 lbs
