Hmm...well I'm not sure what they'll do, but I think one good way of finding out is to see if they have an In-house wheel finisher or a wheel person at the dealer. If not they could do well three options you already mentioned the one being air brushed.

The second would be they have a traveling vendor come to the dealer and refinish and fix I. The spot. Or the wheel is shipped off to a near by wheel shop. If you like to play detective you could call around the area and see which wheel shop work with said dealer and what do they do.

Or you could just ask the dealer outright what they'll do, seems fair and straight forward.

They will try to limit their losses and probably do a touch up. Or whatever the wheel repair guy will recommend. Find out if the wheel is powder coated or painted. Powder coat is much stronger but has more of a thick/semi-gloss finish and more texture than painted. They will probably paint it as this is the cheapest option. If the repair guy is good, you won't notice it. At most maybe some texture difference and possibly some color/shine difference if you have a good eye. Not many mechanics use nylon sockets, although only a few sizes are needed.

Dealers charge the most and use oem(the best?) parts, they should have the highest standard of any mechanic. The damage was done because of negligence. One lug nut hole is one thing, but all four wheels? :bonk:

You could leave it and ask for a couple free services.

I personally wouldn't accept anything but a 100% fix. Or a 90% fix and some free service(100% fix is difficult in that finish). Premium price requires premium service. It's not hard to put some masking tape around a socket or buy a socket... or take your time and not man handle it. They charge around $60 an hour, if I made that much I wouldn't half ass my work and if I made a mistake I would own up to it and not wait for the customer to find out.

I've never used a nylon socket and never scratched a wheel. Probably have taken them on/off 50 times (x4 wheels) accross all my cars. Why are some dealer's mechanics such monkeys?

sorry for the rant. Stock wheels? The bolt hole area is painted so they can probably touch it up and make it look 90%. If they scratched the machined silver finish they cannot fix it. The only way to fix that damage is to strip the wheel, paint it gunmetal, machine the face again, and clear coat it. That would cost much more than the wheels are worth.

Just saw you have the TRD wheels. Damn, that sucks. I'd push for a full repaint.
If they touch them up / spray them locally they will never match the finish of the rest of the wheel, it'll be too glossy or too matte.

That is not acceptable. Your car is clean, the wheels were in perfect condition. You paid a premium for those wheels.

If it was deep in the pocket like in the bottom lug in this pic, I would care too much, but it's straight on the face... Obviously they used an impact wrench. I'm surprised they didn't break your wheel locks. I've used an impact wrench on my aftermarket wheels 5+ times and have zero chipping in that general area.

Which sounds better to you, "perfect, mint RS 1.0 wheels" or "RS1.0 wheels, repainted by a random wheel repair guy after a dealer effed up taking them on."

One of those sets of wheels will sell for more/is worth more :)
