Broken Sun Visor

The damned drivers side sun visor snapped clean off this morning. I was putting the sun protector in the windshield and the visor broke.

It's a feature, not a problem. Your car is faster now after saving weight. :happy0180:

wtf.. so young, so new, so soon  how did that happen? pulled it the wrong way maybe? or just snapped off while pulling it down.. kinna worried about mine now .. o.o

It broke while pulling it down. The drivers side was always a little stiff. I thought the stiffness was because it was new. Guess not.

Wow.. hopefully the dealer will warranty it, as a good will repair if nothing else.

Shit I don't see how that's not a warranty issue.

I've seen stuff like that be called "abuse" before, but never on a car this new so I'd agree. I'm just hoping you don't have to deal with an asshole service department.

I don't. I have a great relationship with the dealer. Talked to them already. They looked up the part but its not listed for order yet. None of the warehouses have them. So they had to make some calls.

Update. There is not a single one in the us. I maybe the first person that needs one replaced. The parts guy did say when I called back about it that it maybe a while.

The local Subie dealer can get them has 7 in the us. for 78bucks. However I'm not sure if the pattern on the visor is the same or not.

My fiance's civic had the same problem and they covered it under warranty, but then again that was a honda. Damn things broke three times during the warranty period.

The visors in my BRZ have the FR-S "T" pattern on them. I'd see if the toyota dealers can get an OK from their area rep to buy the Subaru visor and have it reimbursed by the warranty program.

I brought that up to the parts manager he said I could buy it and go on my own but that would not get covered by the warranty. I'm going to get some epoxy in a few and put it back together for now and not use it until the new part comes in.

I don't think any epoxy will hold well enough for it to be functional. Might as well leave it off.
