Headlight film question

I had my headlight restored and a film was placed over it. Has anyone had cracking of the headlight after putting on a film.

Nope, going on 2 years and it is fine. 3m was used.

I may try to bring this to the attention of a dealership. I could possibly get it replaced under warranty.

From what I can tell it's the lens. The film is brand new. I noticed the stress crack the day after it was installed. I only have it occurring on the drivers side. I tried running hot water over the film which would normally remove haze or swirl marks. I think the stress crack is on the inside of the housing and not the outside.

Well, first, I would take it back to whoever "restored" the headlight and applied the film. Maybe they stressed (cracked) it during the process.

I doubt the dealer would cover it under warranty, since its been "messed with". However, it may be worth a try.

How much would a new one (installed) cost .. ??

Heck, if it doesn't leak or compromise the light ..... I wouldn't worry too much about it ......

I may not do anything if it doesn't spread. If it starts to spread down it may compromise the light. I'm observing for right now. I might talk to the person that installed it.

When I had the passenger replaced under warranty for led failure, it was around $800. Definitely don't want to pay that.

Nope, I have Xpel over my headlights for about 3 years. No issues here.
