Nicked paint on front bumper and questions.

My dumbass scraped a curb. There's a small scrapped section (about the size of a fingernail) at the bottom of the front bumper (1st photo). Underneath it is a much larger scrape (2nd photo).

First, how should I go about trying to fix this? Thanks in advance.
Second, is the bumper made of aluminum? It looks like metal where the paint is gone.
Third, I paid for the thermoguard. I was told (correct me if I'm wrong) that the paint will be protected for five years, I only need to wash with water and not wax since that will damage the thermoguard. I'm worried that if I place a dab of wax over the repaired area, I'll damage the surrounding area.

Sorry bud, I just finished parting it out. I might be able to scrape some Raven paint chips from the curb. $1?

I wouldn't have scrapped that small fingernail-sized section just because it was scraped.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't worry about any of it. A scrape on the bottom of the bumper is almost inevitable as part of the "break in" process of owning one of these cars.

I bought everything I needed to paint my side skirts and lip.

They sell scion (along with all other kinds) paint in spray cans. My buddy that paints cars for a living, was really impressed with how perfectly the paint matched.

Got prep solvent, sand paper of different grits, adhesion promoter, primer, paint, clear, sticky cloth, and a mask.

Good luck!

Use a Dr. Colorchip kit.

The bumper is made of plastic ..... just clean it up and hit it with a Sharpie.

No seriously get a Dr. Colorchip kit. I practically repainted my entire front bumper, every rock chip and scratch, even a key scratch, by hand using Dr. Colorchip, and it blended very well to where I can hardly notice them.

Damn it's that good? Got any pics of your work?

radroach 10-24-2016 02:44 PM

@ChinatownDragon here's a pic of the first 6x6 area that I did, I didn't get before / after pics of the whole car.

I fixed similar damage on my bumper with their products and was shocked how well it turned out. Watch the videos on their website to see what you are getting into.
