Thinking about switching from BMW 328i to Scion FR-S

I purchased a 2013 328i in February with 34k miles but I am considering trading it in for the Scion FR-S. I want to avoid the costly breakdowns that can happen with a BMW and want to go with the sporty scion. Is this a tradedown? Thanks!

Edit: I'll be getting the fr-s in automatic...not sure if that takes away from the experience of enjoying the car. Thanks!

Well I got rid of a BMW 335i for the 86/FRS so I think you should be fine coming from a 328i haha.

How much is walnut shell blasting these days?

Not really a downgrade I mean the seatbelt presenter can't even grab the dam seatbelt half the time lmao.

Google intake valve cleaning of BMW direct injection engines.

My friend has a 2007 335i with over 120k miles and the only thing he had to replace early was the faulty water pump.

BTW who's the fucking troll here calling it a downgrade.

Easy. You are on a frs/brz forum. You just said our cars are a downgrade twice. We all love our cars. Are you really thinking of getting one?

Yes. What rating would you give it out of 10? Do you think the power is too little?

Mine was a 2007, fully loaded.

I wouldn't call it too much of a downgrade in regards to my taste in cars haha :D

I'm happy with the car, but we are all different individuals.

You should ask yourself;

1. Are you okay with a car that will be much louder inside the cabin?
2. Are you okay with a car that is less refined and not as comfortable?
3. Are you okay witha car that is viewed as a less expensive and lower brand car?

If yes, you'll love this car.
I never miss the power of the 335i or my "sti" that I also owned so I didn't bring up power for you.

By the way, another member on here also came from a BMW 335i @SLVRSRFR

Good edit or this would get real sour.

My Scion is just right

krayzie 10-20-2016 01:09 AM

My track rat friend had a stock 2009 328i 2 door and from a dig I can keep up no problem with my stock FA20. If you know how to drive then the difference in torque band isn't a real issue, just rev it out. Yes the FRS is not a fast car and you are really buying handling prowess and superb driving feel.

Buy a top trim BRZ if a nicer interior is what you are after.

Yeah but your seat belt didn't come to you....you had to grab it yourself while your buddy could just sip on tea and know his seatbelt would come to him 64.7% of the time

Honestly that post you did a few comments up was just priceless and so true! :D
