wax a brand new car?
 

Is it a good idea to wax a brand new car? Waiting on mine to come in on order. Should I wait awhile? Since the paint is so fresh...

Everyone here seems to agree that the time it takes for the car to get here from Japan is enough to let it cure properly. Hope so as I opti-coated mine 3 days after I got it. :)

your dealer will have already waxed your car before they deliver it to you.

however, dealers don't do a good cleaning the paint. in fact, they will most likely put swirls into your paint because they need to wash/clean/detail the car as fast as possible.

i would suggest paying an external detailer in your area to detail the car for you.

yes why let your new car get abused then get it protected? makes no sense....its like let me get some rock chips and get clear film afterwards. IMO new car prep is the most important thing to your new car. Clear-coats are only getting thinner n thinner, do you want to take chances with inexperienced detailers ( dealership or volume detailer )?

I have already requested to the dealer to please not do any detailing on the car as many of the other cars on their lot have tons of swirl marks. That way If anyone is putting swirl marks in my new car its me.(hopefully not)
